With a last name like McDermott you’d be right in thinking that the Emerald Isle is near and dear to my heart. One of my last big trips was to spend 3-weeks traveling in Ireland during the Spring of 2019, and during those wonderful days, I experienced the generous hospitality for which Ireland is well known. I also came home with a few recipes gathered in my travels that were welcome additions to some I’ve been making for years.
So, to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, I’m announcing two new virtual workshops on Irish Baking. One will be sweet and the other savory, and both will be on March 17th.
IRISH BAKING: SWEET
On March 17th, we’ll start by making an Irish Apple Tart with a delicious Custard Sauce in the morning session. It begins at 8:30AM. I tasted many an apple tart on my journey and when I came home, this is the tart I created based on what I had learned.

IRISH BAKING: SAVORY
Our second session, also on March 17th, will begin at noon and we will make a Shepherd’s Pie and my favorite Brown Bread made from a recipe that I came home with from one of Ireland’s Aran Islands.

Come for both and you’ll have a savory supper plus dessert ready for your St Patrick’s Celebration. Of course a glass of Irish whiskey to toast the day is always in order, right?
If you already busy on St Pat’s Day, classes are recorded so you can download them right to your own computer and view them at your convenience!
See you soon for Irish Baking!
