An Update
I want to thank you for all the thoughts and comments you shared with me yesterday. After the feedback to yesterday’s post, it was wonderful to know that you are thinking of me. I’m truly feeling lots of love and care from all of you.
I am doing pretty darn well. The bruise on my hip is quite colorful now. In a little over a week it has gone from deep purple, to multi shades of deep red. I think yellow may be next. A little blessing is that the extra “padding” I have on my hip most likely helped make this fall not as bad as it could have been.
Once in Kansas City, MO, where I travelled to the day after the fall, I didn’t have to go far for treatment as there was a chiropractor in residence in the house and I was gifted an adjustment each day while there. Those adjustments really made a difference…as did laughing through my pain when I was on the table. I took some gentle walks and a yoga class while there, too. It’s great to be back home in my sweet cottage with Greta and Mr Fez.
A dear friend of mine is knitting me a sweater vest that is a bit beyond my skill level. One more skein of yarn was needed to complete it. So I took the day off from book edits today, and had a personal day with an excursion to the yarn store, a few hours from home where I had been snagged by the knitted up pattern and wool to begin with, to buy the additional skein needed. After a leisurely drive home I dropped off the skein at my friends house, and Greta and I stayed for good conversation, wine, and chocolate. No, Greta didn’t have any wine and chocolate. She was most interest in playing with Jasmine, her four-legged friend.
Now were tucked in at Pie Cottage. Tomorrow I’ll ease back into book edits.
Starting Monday, I will be calling in each morning for two weeks to find out if I will need to report for jury duty.
Much love to you all,
Kate
I/m so happy to hear you are doing better and that you were well-cared for in Kansas City! Try not to push yourself too hard – keep resting and allow yourself time to heal.
I’m taking it slow and easy.
Back to your Cozy abode..sounds perfect! Please take care…extra padding! A life saver? Hip saver!
Yup, I’ve always been a little hippie!
Did you venture to Churchmouse Yarns & Teas?
Yup. 😉
Sounds like you are on the mend. There is nothing like coming back to your home to help the mending. Take care. Dianne
There’s no place like home. 🙂
is it me, or does everyone experience the “oh crap” moment and resonating ‘thud’ when our bodies hit the ground. I’m pretty sure when I was younger those falls didn’t hurt nearly as much as they do now…
Glad you are doing okay. Take care!
So glad you are healing so well. And, pie has given all of us that extra padding so I’m glad to know it comes in handy! Be well.
An added benefit. 😉
Kate,,
Good idea to take a day off. Glad you are feeling better.
Happy Holidays.
Kathleen
Hey glad to hear you’re home and mending. I am sending this from the jury room here in Tacoma.
Still hope to hand over some of those bumper stickers. Make pie not War!
