New Four-Part Gluten Free Pie Making Video Series
Part 1: DIY Gluten Free Flour Mix
Drum Roll! I’m launching a brand new free video series on Gluten Free Pie Making. I want to get the information and technique out into the world so, with the help of the amazing Leigh Olson I now have a Four-Part Video Series on how to make a gluten free seasonal fruit pie.
Part One starts by showing you How To Make Gluten Free Flour Mix, and Part Four concludes with a freshly baked gluten free pie coming right out of the oven. In between you’ll learn how to make a dough, roll it out, and tips and tricks, that are easy, for shaping and finishing a pie top. As I say in workshops, gluten free pie making isn’t hard, it’s just different.

Part One is here for you today and I’ll be introducing the other three in the gluten free series over the next few days. For those who aren’t gluten free, I think you will be interested in Part Three since it includes how to measure fruit for any pie pan in detail.
Here are the Four Parts:
- How to Make Gluten Free Flour Mix
Super easy and super quick. Watch Kate make the mix used for the Art of the Pie GF dough. - How To Make Gluten Free Pie Dough
A gluten-free dough is very easy to make. Kate shows you how here. - How to Make a Fruit Filling
Make a fruit filling for any size pie pan. - How to Make and Bake a Gluten Free Pie
Once you have the gluten free dough and filling made, see how easy it is to roll it out, and construct a pie, and finish with flutes.
And here’s a link to the entire series:

OK, ready, steady, drumroll, and here we go!
If you would like to have a printed recipe in front of you, or for reference, it’s on page 79 of Art of the Pie, or download a simple version of it without grams. Cups or grams, you can make it either way.
This series will be FREE for you always! I’d love to hear how you like it, so please leave a comment here or over on the comments section where you’ll find the video. If you like this one or the whole series, please let your pie making and gluten free friends know about it, too.
🙂
Enjoyed the gluten free mix presentation. Quick easy to follow. I like having both the measurement and weight as part of the video. Including text with the measurements/weight is excellent.
The quick cuts to a side view were a bit disconcerting as they were so fast and you were not speaking to the camera. Perhaps close up of the mixture or a longer time one the side angle might make it feel “smoother”. The videography, sound, and layout are all great. Thanks for putting together this series – I have friends and family that are gluten free, I look forward to the rest of the segments and plan to apply the information you present!
Thanks for the great feedback Teresa! It’s all a learning experience.
Great video, I’m looking forward to the rest of the videos!

Thank you so much Laura!
Thank you SO much for sharing this! I’ve been trying to find a GF recipe for the longest time!
I hope you like it!
Loving this series already, thanks, Kate!
Thank you Robin!
Hi Kate,
I enjoyed your video – thank you! Agreed with Teresa about the side views, they didn’t really add anything to the understanding. Tapioca starch is the same as tapioca flour, right?
Thanks for the feedback, Andreas. 🙂 Tapioca starch and tapioca flour are the same.
Love this! Just made my first GF dough and I’m looking forward to rolling it out and making a delicious berry pie!! This series is ALMOST as good as being at your cottage for pie camp 😉
Hugs!
Marci
Wonderful! Enjoy the process.
