I’m looking forward to hooking up with friends, new and old, in just a few weeks at the International Food Blogger Conference (IFBC 2015) in Seattle. I haven’t been for a year and always enjoy the networking that happens at the event more than anything. The last time I attended, I forgot to bring business cards, but I did have a brand spanking new Art of the Pie apron with me, so putting it on, I became a walking business card. Actually, it was kinda fun. Folks who knew of me stopped to say “Hello”, and those that didn’t, were curious enough to ask “What is Art of the Pie?”
That’s a great question!
To put it in a nutshell, Art of the Pie continues to be a passion as well as a vocation for me. I had no idea that teaching pie making, and the lessons that I have learned from it, would become such a strong life calling, but indeed, that is what it is. And, I am grateful, for very meaningful work, for hands that create, for friends made through this craft, and especially for the pie plates full of laughter, learning, and love that I have been so privileged to witness and nurture at my workshops.
OK, that’s it for me, today. Now, back to writing. I have deadlines just ahead of me and this book ain’t going to write itself. 😉
P.S. If you are coming to the conference in Seattle and hungry for a piece of pie, here are some spots that might satisfy that craving.
