It’s little things…simple things…that I am so grateful for; family, friends, sweet four-legged companions, a roof over my head, warmth, water, food, good health, and meaningful work allowing me time to contemplate how fortunate I am.
A ding-ding on the phone alerts me to a message. My best friend has a cold. No coffee together for us this morning. I send her the photo above and she responds to let me know that she is there in spirit…as you are, my dear friends. There’s a chair waiting for you. The coffee is on or, if you like, I’ll make you a “spot of tea” as dear Sadie, the Irish lady who lived next door and taught me to drink it strong with plenty of milk and sugar, used to call it. The teacup that she gave me is still in use. Can you believe that I found its big sister, a matching coffee cup, at an estate sale a few months back? The close of the year seems a good time to brew a pot and think of her, and all those who have gone before.
Several years back, I shared with you a post with end of the year traditions about which you might enjoy knowing; little ones that I look forward to all year long. It seems a good time to share it once again.
Many blessings to you and yours.
