New Virtual Pie Camp Workshops
Two of the classes I am asked to teach often are how to Make A Gluten Free Pie, and Blind Baking and Press-In Crusts so I’ve just added two new virtual pie camp workshops for you.
Make A Gluten-Free Fruit Pie will be offered on June 30. In this demonstration and hands on class, you will learn to make gluten free dough in a food processor, a fruit filling, and and the tricks to successfully rolling it out, placing it on top of the pie, and finishing the edges with in your own kitchen. We will also learn to make a lattice crust with gluten-free dough. Instructions will be given on how to bake the pie as we will not be baking it during class time, or how to freeze and bake later. There will be time for questions, too. Here’s the link to register.
Blind Baking and Press-In Crusts will be offered on July 7. A blind-baked crust is used for pies like lemon meringue, chiffon pies, or coconut cream. Press-in crusts, that use cookie crumbs or nutmeals, are some of the easiest to make and are not rolled but pressed in and making them ones you will return to again and again. Kate McDermott is excited to share these ways to hold a pie filling with you in this 90-minute session in your own kitchen. There will be plenty of time for your questions in this one session demonstration/workshop, too. Here’s the link to register.
I hope you will join me and watch for more Virtual Pie Camp Workshop/Demonstrations to come!
