In September I’m looking forward to meeting up with some of my blogger friends from across the country at International Food Blogger Conference to be held in Seattle. It’s a fully packed weekend of tours and talks showcasing some of the best in our little food blogging world. Who would have thought 20 years ago there would even be such a thing as food blogging!
Now comes a tongue in cheek moment…
This year there will be a session on Cooking with Cannabis. I think this may be the first of its kind in a culinary conference. Now, being that I do make pot pies (albeit sans that kind of pot), I’m looking forward to hearing what this herb will mean to the culinary world.
I’m thinking of doing a Chicken Pot Pie workshop near the dates of the conference at Pie Cottage if there is interest, but the only green herb that will be in my pot pies will be the thyme I grow in my garden!
Can cannabis actually be used to make something taste good? I mean, I thought most of the time when you make it into something edible, the idea is to cover up the flavor, kind of like making a mixed drink – you cover up the nasty flavor of “the good stuff” with a bunch of other stuff that actually tastes good.
I truthfully wouldn’t know, Peter. I’m interested in what the conference session has to offer. I have an email in for the organizers hoping that it will indeed about the flavor profile. I’ll report back after the conference.
