Chocolate Ganache Frosting
An easy to make rich chocolate ganache that can be used for a frosting.
saucepan
bowl
whisk
plastic wrap
- 12 ounces heavy whipping cream
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Place the chocolate chips in a medium size bowl.
Heat heavy whipping cream to a boil over medium heat. This won't be a rolling boil, but you do need to get it hot enough so it can melt the chocolate chips.
Pour hot whipping cream over the chocolate chips, let melt a bit, and then whisk until well combined.
Cover with plastic wrap and let cool completely, which will take about an hour, and then let it set up to thicken. I let it set up for about four hours before spreading on top of frozen brownies.
